2025 Steelhead Fly Tying 101 Class - 4 weeks

Instructor: Bruce Cox

The patterns covered have brought lake-run fish to the net for decades,
and are in all experienced Steelheaders' fly boxes. Every year, new patterns come out,
and with few exceptions, they utilize the same tying techniques we will cover in class.

Class participants are responsible for their own vise, tools, thread, and adhesives. All other materials and hooks will be provided, along with tie sheets to take with you for each fly.

Week 1: Single Egg Patterns (Wed. October 1st, 2025 5:00pm - 7:00 pm)

Week 2: Multiple Egg Patterns (Wed. October 8th, 2025 5:00pm - 7:00 pm)

• Sucker Spawn
• Blood Dot

Week 3: Nymphs & Worms (Wed. October 15th, 2025 5:00pm - 7:00 pm)

• Small Black Stonefly Nymph
• Rubber Legs-style Stonefly
• Squirmy Worm
• San Juan Worm

Week 4: Wets/Streamers (Wed. October 22nd, 2025 5:00pm - 7:00 pm)

• Jeff Blood's White Death
• Lucas Smith Erie Shiner
• Egg Sucking Leech
• Goat's Toe Wet Fly (Jerry Yates adaptation)
