Eric Bailey

A lifelong resident of Southwest PA, Eric started fly fishing in his teen years. As his passion grew to an obsession, his focus turned to helping others learn the exciting sport of fly fishing.

Eric's main focus in the summer months is Smallmouth Bass fishing out of a drift boat. As fall approaches, he will fish for Trout, Northern Pike and Musky.

Through winter and early spring he is chasing BIG Trout on streamers. The aggressive, pre-spawn Smallmouth bite follows shortly after in late spring!

In addition to being an Orvis-Endorsed Guide, Eric is an avid instructor, skilled fly tier, and runs many of our tying classes, on-stream clinics, and hosts some of our destination trips.

When he's not guiding or working in our retail store, Eric is passionate about volunteering and chasing the elusive Permit in the salt any chance he gets.

Lucas Smith

With over 15 years of experience on the water, Pittsburgh local Lucas is an expert fly fishing guide specializing in both Wade and Float Trips for Trout, Steelhead and Smallmouth Bass.

Having grown up fishing the tributaries of Lake Erie as well as the streams of Pennsylvania, Lucas' knowledge of local waters and his passion for the sport run deep. Lucas spends his summers as a wade and lead float guide for Blue Quill Angler in Evergreen, Colorado. 

Lucas is committed to making every trip enjoyable, educational, and memorable. Whether you’re a seasoned angler looking to hone your skills or a beginner eager to learn the basics, Lucas tailors each experience to meet the needs and abilities of his clients. He has guided hundreds of anglers through a range of conditions, from tranquil spring-fed streams to fast-moving mountain rivers.

Certified in First Aid and CPR, Lucas prioritizes safety while ensuring an outstanding fishing experience. His professional gear and boats are top-of-the-line, and he is well-versed in various techniques, from nymphing and dry fly fishing to streamer fishing and swinging. He loves sharing tips on casting techniques, fly selection, and understanding fish behavior to improve your fishing game.

Lucas' goal is to leave you with not only a memorable day of fishing but a greater appreciation for the environment and the art of fly fishing. When he's not guiding, Lucas enjoys participating in local conservation efforts and spending his own time on the water.
