Post Film Tour
I will be checking out the tour here in Anchorage on Thursday. Should be amazing. Perhaps I'll post a little review.

Mark - how does KVD do it?!?!?!

Peace,
Hookset

Pregame at Humpy’s Ale House
Walk across the street to the Performing Arts Center for the Fly Fishing Film Tour
Postgame at the Bear Tooth Theater taking in The Emmitt Nershi Band

The film tour was a lot of fun; I would recommend it to anyone. Here in Anchorage the show took place in a huge theater and it was standing room only. The strongest videos were Metal-head from AEG about epic steelhead fishing in Canada, a video of catching permit from the beach somewhere (akin to Running Down the Man), silver salmon on waking fly’s in my backyard and some great footage of Ohio Steelhead from your backyard :D .

At this point I can do without fishing guides waxing philosophical about the meaning of life and I can do without excessive gear and lodge advertisements :x but either way kudos to Philips and the IA Boys for bringing the tour to The Burg.

We are on our way to selling out of tickets.

Sounds like a good time.

As far as KVD goes if I knew... I would be the undoubted best bass fisherman on earth.

Is there any fishing going on yet?

No fishing yet to speak of...
Last Monday I took a little hour and half drive down to the upper Kenai just to poke around and explore. The river is about opened up and early season is the time to fish the upper river on foot. There are rainbows, dolly and char to be had but in the two hours that I fished I caught two silvers that were on the way out. Apparently there's a Spring steelhead deal on the Kenai but I am having trouble getting the 411.

The locals are excited about the "resident" Kings that can be caught in the harbor in Homer and the first shots at halibut out of Seward which will get going in April. It seems that Pike and Grayling in the local lakes heats up just after ice out which will be sometime early May. That will keep me busy until the salmon show up.

Otherwise I am busy twisting up the biggest, heaviest, cross cut rabbit, marabou, estaz, lead eye, lead wrapped, jig hook, gig-a-watt, dolly-lama, beasts imaginable.
